Ji Hye Jung Korean percussionist Ji Hye Jung has been studying marimba since the age of five. She has performed as soloist with the Houston Symphony, the Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, as well as most of the premier orchestras in Korea . Recently, she was the First Prize Winner at the 2006 Linz International Marimba Competition. 

Miss Jung came to Baltimore in 2003 to study with Robert van Sice at the Peabody Conservatory. She has been a member of the Norfolk Chamber Music Ensemble, where she collaborated with composers Martin Bresnick and Alejandro Viñao. She has also performed as soloist with David Robertson in Carnegie Hall as part of a Professional Training Workshop. In the spring of 2005, Miss Jung returned to Korea to present a series of recitals and masterclasses with Mr. van Sice. In August of 2005, she was a participant in a series of master classes given by Keiko Abe as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. In May of 2005 and 2006, Miss Jung was selected as a finalist in Houston Symphony's Ima Hogg Young Artist Competition, receiving third place in 2006. In 2007 she was selected for the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra. She has been a faculty member of the Peabody Preparatory, and is endorsed by Adams Musical Instruments and Vic Firth.
