Evgeniya gained extensive concert experience through appearances at and participation in music festivals, such as Nova Musica in Sofia, Bulgaria; New Bulgarian Music in Sofia; Winter Musical Evenings in Pazardjik, Bulgaria; the Spontin i-Pergolesi Festival, Italy; Max Reger Days in Weiden, Germany; Festival Finka Justus Franz in the Grand Canary Islands, among others. She has been taking part in a various Radio and TV Recordings. Fascinated by the multiple possibilities of the marimba, she began to focus on that instrument. Consequently she attended master klasses with internationally renoened marimba players as N. J. Zivkovic, Momoko Kamiya, Katarzyna Mycka, Nancy Zeltsman Evgeniya has premiered works of various composers, and in the past few years, especially those of Matthias Schmitt. In 2004 she was featured as a soloist and duo partner with the Japanese marimba artist, Mayumi Sato, during Schmitt’s Composer’s Portrait in Linz, Austria. In 2005 she performed as solo artist with the Schumen Philharmonic in the Bulgarian premiere of „One World“, Schmitt’s marimba concerto. In 2006 she introduced the public of the Obersdorfer Summer Music Festival to Schmitt’s solo works. Since March 2006, Evgeniya Kavaldzhieva has been teaching at the Fachhochschule-Würzburg- Schweinfurt. |
