Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra

Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra presents the Shell Jazz Exploration Tour featuring American vibist Joe Locke for a series of
concerts and workshops throughout Scotland, performing large ensemble works composed and arraigned by Joe Locke and others.

One of the finest leading big bands in the country gets together with one of the finest jazz vibraphonists alive. New York based, Locke's a player of great imagination and vision, but with deep roots in the jazz tradition, and he'll work perfectly with a band that can play old standards by Ellington and Basie, and work on contemporary material with equal passion.
