trinity guildhall Trinity Guildhall will be running a series of seminars on the new Drum Kit Syllabus 2007 - 2010. Trinity Guildhall has recently launched a new Percussion syllabus - as part of the project to develop new Trinity Guildhall exams following the amalgamation of Trinity and Guildhall in 2004.

The new exams went live on January 1st this year.  Alongside the syllabus we have also published new books (with CDs) for Drum Kit, which have been very well received by drum kit teachers throughout the UK. 

In March we have organised a series of Drum Kit seminars for teachers wanting to know more about the syllabus, which will include practical demonstrations of what is expected of the candidate in the exam, along with advice on how to build exams into normal teaching practice.  The seminars will be led by one of our percussion specialist - Malcolm Ball. 

Drum Kit Seminars March 2007The seminars will take place on:
Monday 5th March 6 – 8 p.m. Nottingham
Thursday 8th March 6 – 8 p.m. Newcastle
Sunday 11th March 2 – 4 p.m. London
Monday 12th March 6 – 8 p.m. Bristol
Tuesday 13th March 6 – 8 p.m. Birmingham
Thursday 15th March 6 – 8 p.m. Liverpool

The seminars will include:The features and benefits of the new Drum Kit syllabus Practical demonstrations highlighting stylistic elements and what may be expected from the candidate The rational behind the repertoire selection An overview of the technical requirements How to build exams into normal teaching practice Tea and coffee will be provided during the seminar.
