2008 Classical Marimba League Marimba Artist Competition 

Attention Marimba Players:Get out your mallets, set up the mics, and hit record! The Classical Marimba League is accepting applications to the new CML Marimba Artist Competition!

Awards include: Invitations to perform at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Percussion Festival; A personal recording session; & New pieces for marimba commissioned by the CML specifically for the winners! 

To Apply:
Complete the application form.  As the winners will receive an invitation to perform in Pembroke, NC, it is necessary that the applicants are available from March 14-15, 2008.  Winners are responsible for any travel and lodging expenses. 

Qualifications:
There are no age restrictions for the competition.  Applicants must demonstrate an advanced level of musical and technical ability on the marimba; as is essential in the professional performance arena.

Submit: 
A recording (CD only) with the application form and $30 processing fee.  Recording should include a minimum of two separate pieces for marimba of the applicants' choice.  Recordings must be of high audio quality and will not be returned.  Recordings deemed low in audio quality will not be reviewed.  Original pieces are welcome.  The number of pieces included is up to the applicant’s discretion.
