On Saturday 21st April 2007, Dave will be collaborating on a percussion day with Carmarthenshire Music Service. The packed schedule includes a 2 hour percussion workshop and rehearsals with the various ensembles to prepare for an evening concert at Burry Port Memorial Hall. During the concert Dave will be performing a short concerto with Burry Port Town Band, an item with Carmarthenshire Senior County Wind Band, an item with the county percussion ensemble and an unaccompanied marimba solo from his new album. All of the ensembles will be contributing other items to a programme which promises to be an exciting showcase of young musical talent in the area. On Wednesday 25th April 2007 Dave will be appearing with Tredegar Town Band as the band’s guest soloist at a concert at the Tabernacle Chapel, Cardiff. Dave will be performing the lively final movement from Derek Bourgeois’ Concerto for Percussion and Brass Band along with Paul Smadbeck’s reflective work for unaccompanied marimba, Virginia Tate. Also featured in the programme is the world premiere of a new arrangement for brass band of Ney Rosauro’s Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra, which Dave was commissioned to arrange for the final round of the European Solo Competition for Brass & Percussion, which will be held at the start of May in Birmingham. Following these two brass band dates, Dave’s Rhythmic Renaissance Tour continues in Clevedon, North Somerset on Friday 27th April 2007, where he’ll be appearing with Gordano Wind Ensemble.
