round house The Roundhouse Studios are running a series of performing arts workshops alongside Tim Supple's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream which is currently being presented in the Roundhouse's main space, a vibrant, fresh take on this popular play with an Indian cast.

Masterclasses and participatory workshops will explore the rich tradition of Indian art-forms featured in the show including Rope & Silk climbing, Indian percussion and drums, South Asian martial arts, and classical and folk dance. Participants will learn exhilarating new skills direct from members of the cast and gain insights into the extraordinary artistry of contemporary Indian theatre and culture.

These workshops are aimed at performing arts students and young professionals aged 13 to 30, and will be running from March-April, allowing students to attend both as part of their course, or in their own time during the Easter break.

There is an Indian Percussion workshop happening on Thursday 5 April, from 2pm to 4pm, aimed at percussion students aged 13-18. This is being run by two of the musicians from the show, and will give participants a fantastic introduction to traditional/folk rhythms and beats from all over India.

Cost is £2 per head
